Questions: anyone build a competition/match or race gun on a .22LR platform, like a Ruger or Browning? which is better frame for building? Grip position & mag release would be important as well after market parts. I seen a few videos with a Ruger that was done with a c-more sight and shooting steel plates. this is a great way to practice and ammo would be cheaper. Would spend more time at the range with .22LR The only other thing would be a holster, I don't think I've seen any competition holsters sold for these guns.

if you have done a project like this post a pic would like to see some ideas.

Why not get a conversion kit put on a Nork 1911 or something like that? It would keep your practice a bit closer to your centerfire (if you shoot centerfire).
I find personally that most rimfire handguns do not have the controls in a position to operate them quickly, but I don't have experience with all of them.
If you've got a centerfire that can use a .22lr conversion then you also solve the holster problem.

Just my opinion,

I like the Browning and the Rugers are accurate and reliable, however; my shooting budday and I both bought STI .22 cal. top ends for our 1911 and 2011 and are very impressed. They are amoung the most accurate .22’s we have ever fired.

Browning and Ruger fit a smaller hand, I love a 1911 but it would be to big for my kids to learn on for 1 and I want to keep the cost down a top end would cost around $500. then I would need a 1911 which would be another cost, I can pick up a new Brown or Ruger for under $400.
