I know this will either get moved, deleted or what, but instead of "rimfire" maybe they should rename this forum "10-22" and start another "rimfire" forum.

I have nothing against 10-22's but it seems that 80% of all threads posted here are related to 10-22's. Yes I understand they are the most "mod-able" and people love them, but I think they're far from the best rimfire or even rimfire semi.

Maybe so many posts because people have problems with them?????

Sounds like a reasonable idea, if there is good support from other users.
I have a 10/22 and 3 other type .22’s.
Most of my interest is in rim fire target shooting and not in plinking or in modifying my 10/22.

The question might be , is there enough other rimfire threads to justify a separate forum? If only 20% is other RF stuff we may be stuck with what we have. Maybe a title change to '10-22 and other rimfire stuff '.;)

Couldn't agree more. I posted on the same topic though, I think it fell on deaf (moderator) ears; http://www.canadiangunnutz.com/forum/showthread.php?576976-10-22-time-for-it-s-own-sub-forum

Sure, I've burned-out 2 computer mouses (mice?) from scrolling PAST 10/22 threads (that's an exaggeration :) ) but whatever. I think a 10/22 thread would not only serve the non-10/22 crowd better, but it would pack all those threads into one place for the mod-crazy among us. It's a win/win. Not that it compares in size, but the formula seems to work on that other rimfire site...not mentioning any names.

x3

Because I had one, sold it and do not really care to read threads on this rifle:)

So yes, let the 10-22 owners have their own sub-forum. RimfireCentral did this.

Well, kind of my reality to. Had one, it ate everything...but it had a terrible trigger and was very inaccurate. Felt a little ripped-off, and resented the idea of pouring more $ to make it shoot as well (not better) than my bolt action which cost 1/2 as much. Instead, I'm sentenced to reading countless threads about guys who embrace the situation that put me off of Ruger 10/22s entirely. I think the Mossberg Tactical rifles are getting there too, but won't ever hit the level of 10/22 over-saturation around here.

So does the black rifle forum have to split because most of the threads in there are on AR's? Please stop making more sub forums... If you don't want to read about 10/22's then post more non 10/22 threads.

I agree that there are already enough sub forums. It's not like 200 new threads a day appear in here. Hatred of the 10-22 is no reason to try and hide the popularity from the view of the minority.

I'm no 10/22 fan... I do browse the occasional thread though. I kind of like the fact that Marlin alone outsold Ruger 2:1 for decades, and there are still many other manufacturers of fun .22's....hiding the 10/22 in it's own forum might not help anyone in that camp see the light.

I have owned many, many .22's, and usually have 6+ floating around. 10/22's are not allowed on the premises. Doesn't mean someone suffering issues with one doesn't have a "general" .22 issue.

Those damn reliable 10/22s and their huge fanbase and market share. I do not wish to see them anymore!

I also think the black rifle forum should have an AR sub forum. They are far from the best semi auto black rifle, and I should not be subjected to their restricted nastiness.

Gee camster~do you just HAVE to phrase everything I say, better/nicer than I do? :) Back to the sub-forum...I STILL think it's a good idea, even for .22 issues. A home for 10/22 enthusiasts will likely be an even better place to find the kind of tech support they're after. Having said that, most of us have had one...and those that got rid of them probably have some input on how to work on them to get them shooting better. Still don't like seeing the first 7/10 threads 10/22-related whenever I come on here.

This is a rimfire forum, pretty sure 10/22s are rimfire. If you don't want to read about 10/22s, skip over them, no one is making you read them. Don't see how there would be more posts about other rimfires if the 10/22 stuff was elsewhere. Are people intimidated to post about other rimfires because of the number of 10/22 posts?
