Rimfire Forum??

Reminds me of a joke...

Do you know what's the difference between a Liberal and a Conservative?

•If a conservative doesn’t like treads about 10/22's, they don’t read them.
•If a liberal doesn’t like treads about 10/22's, then he wants them all moved for his convenience...

This is a rimfire forum, pretty sure 10/22s are rimfire. If you don't want to read about 10/22s, skip over them, no one is making you read them. Don't see how there would be more posts about other rimfires if the 10/22 stuff was elsewhere. Are people intimidated to post about other rimfires because of the number of 10/22 posts?

Intimidated by a Ruger 10/22
Even this "Mall Ninja Special" make me smile!

Ruger 10/22 is a rimfire rifle and it is deservedly very popular, deal with it!

SOOOOOO true.....

I love the one that I shoot - it's a 1967 Commemorative - maple leaves all over it - bought cheap 'down there' because it was a 'Canadian thing...' Sure, it's not going to beat any Anschutz, but it's a sure-fire can killer at 100m.

Ahh...I see..Liberal eh? I'm no fan of 10/22s, but I'm not alone in that. I'm also honest enough to suggest that if 8/10 posts were CONSISTENTLY on the subject of better guns like Marlins, CZ, Anschutz, Savage :) that I'd suggest THEY deserve their own forum too. Provided there is a mix of everything, I don't care one way or another...and I doubt many others would.

Above all else~I think forums are a great way to spend time when we can't GET out shooting, and it would be a shame to think we can't express our opinions, honestly, without being called a dirty Liberal. lol

Why don't we have a forum for every manufacturer... then further break it down into action type... then further break it down into model number... then further break it down into year of manufacture... that should do it... on average there will be one sixteenth (1/16) of a person in each forum... except the 10/22 forum which will still have 20 or 30.

Gee camster~do you just HAVE to phrase everything I say, better/nicer than I do? :) Back to the sub-forum...I STILL think it's a good idea, even for .22 issues. A home for 10/22 enthusiasts will likely be an even better place to find the kind of tech support they're after. Having said that, most of us have had one...and those that got rid of them probably have some input on how to work on them to get them shooting better. Still don't like seeing the first 7/10 threads 10/22-related whenever I come on here.
lol

I wasn't try to one-up you.... I was suggesting that [playful troll alert] poor, misbegotten souls that they are, some 10/22 owners actually believe that they are in the majority of .22 owners...not just .22 posters. I usually skip the threads that I can't contribute to, or learn from. No biggie.

As suggested, we could come up with more non-10/22 threads...
How can I put bottom rails on my CZ? How can I accurize my Anschutz? Why does this 60 yr old .22 outshoot my neighbor's new rifle? Are there hi-cap magazines for my single shot Cooey? Is there a Nomad for my Martini?

Could also just pony up some respect for fellow shooters... I have a weakness for shooting, and am extra weak for .22's. I will not deny there is a huge market for the 10/22 crowd. I'm not too proud to ride the bus with them, but I won't read every thread either. Honestly, there are too few shooters in general for us to get too high falutin'.

Oh, I agree camster...and I was just razzing you about how you phrase things a little better. Meant as a compliment really. Your humor comes across as that, humor. Mine is interpreted as bitter sarcasm when really...it's friendly sarcasm. :) I suspect if you subtract-out all the high-cap magazine talk, an easy 1/3 of the threads wouldn't exist at all. Anyhow, I have no shortage of respect for shooters. More, still, for those who not only shoot rimfires, but embrace them like we, collectively, do.

"poor, misbegotten souls that they are" Might be my favorite CGN post to date... :D

There is a level of diminishing returns on forum experience when you start segregating everything into its own forum.

The rimfire forum will stay rimfire.

X2

Its funny to me that this thread about 10/22s having their own sub catagory is just another thread about 10/22s..therefore making it the root of its own problem. Rimfire is rimfire my friends. I use to own a 10/22..got rid of it..don't regret it..but still like to read about what other people have to say about them.
