Hey everyone, I've been kind of interested in the idea of getting one of Henry's rimfire mare's legs and putting a full stock on it to have a pretty fun little rifle. That being said, I'd like to make it more than just a little range toy and would like to maybe try one out hunting small game up north next time I'm up there.

I am just wondering if the 22lr would be able to get enough velocity from the 12.875" barrel to be reliable for snowshoe hare, or would this be a good time to look into 22 mag. I'd assume it would be perfectly fine if going for headshots, and I would like the ability to take cottontails and squirrels if needed. I already have a Ruger 1022 that I use mostly for target shooting. I dont need this rifle, I just want it. Thoughts? Thanks!

It will work just fine plus you can still use cci quiets just as effectively, I do it all of time. I wouldn't get the 22 mag unless you want the extra unnecessary noise.
