I ordered a Birchwood Casey Gallery .22/Pistol Resetting target from Cabelas and it arrived today just in time for the only 2 hours of sunshine we've had in the past 4 days of solid rain.

Took it out to the gravel pit and didn't really have high hopes that the small .22 would have enough power to actually sing those metal targets over, boy was I wrong! The target works wonderfully!

The only "downside" is the sticker type targets that are on the metal arms were gone after the first shot or two which is no big deal, I'm going to just spray paint the metal targets with an orange spray paint.

Cost was about $60 after shipping and I'm quite happy with the purchase! Just hope I can take it out again sometime soon!

The one on the left is the .22/Pistol target and the other is an airgun one. Shoot the bottom four targets and they flip and and stay there. Then shoot the top target to let the 4 targets below reset.

They also make an "animal" silhouette version of the above targets as well!

This gets two thumbs up! :D
 
I have had mine for a couple seasons and spray painted them many times. Great for practising trigger pull and scope adjustments. I usually shoot it at 50 yards but have done it at 75 also. Next trip I will try 100 yards.
 
I too have one and found the paddles too light, welding a heavy washer on the backside of each paddle made a nice improvement on the target. The extra weight stopped them flipping over with excessive force which often would cause them to bounce back down. I also have a dueling tree for .22s, good fun when there are two of you shooting.

I used a 1" flat washer, it has an outside dia. of 2 1/2" and is about 3/16" thick.

I'll post pictures shortly. When I first seen the targets I was like "holy crap I destroyed them" but it's mainly just looks. There is no deforming to the back of the targets at all.

Yeah every now and then I had that problem but I just accept it and keep shooting. :D

Congrats on getting another one! It was actually your post telling people you forgot it that actually made me go out and buy one.
 
I have one too and its my favorite range toy, from 50 to 100 yards. It can be flipped up at 100 yards with a 22LR. Setting it up just like the picture is critical. It has to lean forward as far as it will go to work properly, and if it moves so its not parallel to the shooting line, it can cause problems too. My only complaint is that to make it work right, it has to be leaned fully forward and that puts the paddles awefully close to the ground. If there is much grass or any rolls and dips in the terrain, you lose sight of the paddles and definately can't shoot prone. I'd like to try making some slip on longer legs out of some tubing to make it higher.

Yes I should have mentioned that. Longer legs would be nice for shooting prone. For just sitting/standing I set it up high on something like an old table if the ground wasn't flat.

BTW here's a picture of the upper target on mine (crappy grouping I know, there was a nasty crosswind) :D

I just hit mine up with some white spray paint every once in a while. I tried flourescent red, but it doesn't stand out as well from the grass in my eyes as white. Groupings, who cares about groupings? Its the joy of seeing them pop up and not having to worry about anything other than you either hit it or missed it. I usually take a few shots at paper first to make sure my scope is still zero'd and after that its take out the bad guys. A brick of 500 isn't lasting like is used to since I got that 10/22.

Yeah I took out a paper target first to make sure my scope was good (new scope) then set this thing and and started blasting away. It's funny that in the picture I posted of the "damage" you can see the marks the hollowpoints left in the steel! :D

I have also noticed that it needs to be on flat ground, if one side of target is lower then you'll get mad! You shoot the one of the farthest end targets and it pops up but then if you shoot opposite farthest end target it pops up but knocks the other side down. At first I was mad but after awhile I realized that if I shot the target just right (usually a little on the highside) then it wouldn't bounce up hard enough to knock the other one down.
