Hi
What's the difference between scopes and rimfired scopes
Which one should I get my for
22LR rifle ? 150-200$ $ recommendations please

Usually rimfire scopes have their parrallax set to ~50yards or have adjustable objective.

I really like what nikon has to offer in your price range. If you can stretch your budget a bit, leupold rimfire 2-7 x33 are even better.

Not a big fan of rimfire scopes. They may be cheaper, but that is exactly what you get. $200 or a bit more gets you a big rifle low end scope which is a lot more than most rimfire scopes. I just dont like buying twice.

Bushnell trophy, Vortex crossfire, Nikon Prostaff.....

Rimfire scopes aren't built as strong other scopes built for higher recoil guns so they are usually cheaper. other things like glass quality and magnification are a part of that as well. I really like my 3-9x40 vortex diamondback but that's in the 250 range.

I have found pellet/air rifle scopes to be top notch for the money.
They are stronger then most rifle scopes. Due to the way a spring rife recoils.
From the pellet gun scopes i have had.
A 250$ pellet gun scope is like a 600$ rifle scope.

I shoot 22LR mostly between 20-50 yds, so pretty much sticking with AO scopes;
ultimately, information on the distances you plan to shoot would be helpful.

Decent value for around $90 is the Simmons Mag22 3-9x32 AO

Even better @ $150 is the Nikon Prostaff 4x32

As bollox mentioned, always worth keeping an eye on the EE for a used Leupold rimfire series
(which tend to creep into the $300 range new)

Is the comment about pellet guns and air soft scopes
Legit? They are cheaper and better quality then firearm scopes?!?

I figure if be shooting. Between 20-100 yards

It's not the AMOUNT of recoil, it's TYPE of recoil. A spring piston air rifle doesn't even come close to a small caliber centerfire's recoil, maybe a little more than .22lr. But it recoils forwards too when the piston struck front of cylinder and stops, that's what wrecks scopes not designed for it.

Not that I don't believe you, I appreciate all advice and opinions , just curious if that truly is a good option
Thx
