Rimfire Semis- What else is other than 10/22?

Thompson Center R55 Benchmarks and Volquartsen customs are the only semi-auto rimfires I've personally seen that shoot well. The R55 will shoot 10 round nickels at 50m with reasonably priced ammunition, despite the trigger. And yes, this was at a public range with witnesses and on more than one occasion.

597 is certainly a contender... Full sized, accurate. If you feel the need for aftermarket, some bits are available. The heavy bolt/2 guide rail thing is a nifty innovation in the .22 world. 10 rd mags are almost flush (as much as I rant about 10/22's...that rotary 10rd/flush mag is very respectable). I love mine and, it was very affordable.

x2 on Cooey(64) as well. That was my first (and still fav.) .22. I've had quite a few 64's since and, love 'em. I adore my 64's but, sadly, I saw some Savages in a shop, new, beside Marlin 795 and, Rem597...they were quite a bit higher priced! Sad but, true...one of the most compelling factors in a 64 is/was bang for the buck!

There are all kinds of semi's not available new today that beat the cr@p out of any "new" offerings...87a(and all names) old Mossbergs (crazy accurate semi .22's) etc...

There are still some I'd like to try too: CZ512, Voere, etc...

Too many .22's and, so little time/$'s!!!

Ive always wanted a Sig, how about a 522? Oh wait, theyre prohibited...V:I:

im gonna putter around with my cz 452 for a while but I might end up getting that marlin 795. crazy how much people seem to hate the 10/22!

Browning Buckmark Carbine. Based on their pistol, and heavy barrel, great accuracy.
Pic rail, so mounts are already there for a dot or QR mounts and scope.

They look as good as they shoot

Yes, let us know. I'm curious what types of ammo you plan to test in it? I have the same model and mine really really likes cci standard velocity.

I took the optics off to test the iron sights first and this was the result with Federal bulk ammo at 30 yds. I'm sure others could do better without crappy eyes like mine. The black area on this target is 3.5" dia.

Will try it next at 50, 75 & 100 yds. with the scope after sighting it and I'm expecting good results.

BTW right out of the box put 100 rds. throught it (Federal Bulk, Remington Thunderbolt and American Eagle) and did not have one jam. Only had one FTF but that would be on the ammo not the gun.

So far I'm impressed with this semi.
