I know EESA ran a couple rimfire tactical-type matches in 2011 and they were a blast! Unfortunately, the turn out wasn't very good and they haven't put another one on. Is there anything else like that in Ontario? Similar to ww w.accurateshooter.com/shooting-skills/rimfire-tactical-precision-match/

Thanks.

EESA and lots of different rifles showed up. From stock Rugers to a Sako Quad. They had everything: a silhouette shoot, sniper stage, close quart stage, paper target stage, and probably more I'm forgetting.

So, nothing else around eh.

Well I don't think Adrenaline out be Melbourne will let you use their facilities for that, so one of us will have to build something.

If somebody did build something, it would give me another excuse to buy anther rifle.

I was thinking similar to what Clayne_b shoots (longer range). A little more looking on the net and there's also a series of events Ruger puts on (more action style) and the NRA is looking at running .22LR 3-gun events. They all look like fun.

I'd be in for sure. If everyone could post ideas I can see if I can make it work at my club. I'm limited to 100 yard range but if many if the ideas can fit in the footprint of my clubs range ill see if I can make it work

Not sure what kind of shooting you're thinking, but here's three ideas:

An example of a match an American member here, Clayne_b, does:

Marksman Group – March, 2013
(80 rounds max + shooting gallery – possible 870+ points)
25 yards
Stage 1 – 1 cold bore / KYL– 6 shots - 30 seconds –ODD/EVEN - possible 115 points
One shot on Cold bore – 5 shots on KYL. 1st Miss on KYL zeros the KYL score.

Stage 2 – 12 shots - 12 shots – 50 Seconds- ODD/EVEN - possible 85 points
1 point for a hit on the black. 5 points for hits all white inside the circle. Bonus 25 if all 12 are clean hits on white.
1 shot per circle

Stage 3 – Card - 10 shots – 60 seconds –ODD/EVEN - possible 95 points
Must shoot the card completely in half = 50 points. 5 points for every bullet left over.

Stage 4 – Matchsticks - 10 shots – 60 seconds –ODD/EVEN - possible 145 points
Each shooter has 10 shots and 5 matchsticks. 15 points for each matchstick shot in half. 10 points for each round of ammo left over. Bonus toothpick is worth 30 points. Negative 20 points if you shoot the block of wood.

50 yards
Stage 5 – KYL steel – 8 shots – 40 seconds - single shooter– possible 175 points
Stop when you want. 1st miss zeroes score. 5,10,15,20,25,30,35,40 per target

Stage 6 - Ducks – 9 shots – 35 seconds – ODD/EVEN- possible 90 points
Scored as written on target

75 yards
Stage 7 – Positional shooting – 6 Shots – 70 seconds - ODD/EVEN - possible 120 points
On the beep, engage the hostage target with 2 rounds from each position (standing, kneeling, prone).
Scored as target indicates. Pole, table, chair are allowed for support.

Stage 8 – Golf Balls - #1@25/#2@35/#3@45/#4@55/#5@65 yards – 10 shots – timed –points depends on the number of shooters at the match. Best time gets # of shooters x 3, 2nd best time get 3 points less,3rd best gets 3 points less than 2nd and so on. Failure to hit all 5 targets scores a ZERO.

100 Yards
Stage 9 – Heart rate challenge – 9 shots – Single Shooter - timed
Shooter places rifle on the ground. On buzzer shooter will do 15 jumping jacks ,pick up his rifle, and fire 3 shots at the 1st target standing (Can use pole for brace).
Shooter will set rifle on bench, bolt open, and do run to the end of the concrete and back 3 times, pick up rifle and shoot 3 shots at 2nd target kneeling with rifle rested bench.
Shooter will set rifle on ground with the bolt open and go to the pole behind him, put his hand on the pole and circle the pole 6 times,go prone and fire 3 shots at 3rd target
Soring: 100 points per hit divided by the time in seconds multiplied by 10.
Total hits ____ x 100 = ____ Divided by Time in seconds______ =_____ X 10 = _______
