I looked through the archives and found a 2 year old thread that broke down into the typical DIY US importation discussion. I realize I can't go get it myself without an export permit. But does anyone know of a canadian source? I'm sure if a sponsor on this board were to pick up a few pallet loads to sell here, there'd be quite a tidy sum in it for them. I'd be down for at least a few bricks.

It'd just be a fun thing to have, I think, anyways.

Esp. for use with a hi-cap mag. ;)
I can see the torched and burning target sheets now! :runaway:

edit - while it doesn't specify caliber, Wholesale Sports does have one hit for 'tracer ammo'. if it is indeed legit, perhaps contacting them may reveal that you can get it in Canada already. :)

FWIW....

No to rain on your parade.
I have a few of these left in my collection.
These are not for sale because I have no plans to replace them.
They were a disappointment to say the least.
The tiny pellet burns out quickly and is dim at best.
The fun factor is severely limited.:(

They suck, I tried them as well. I bet it would be tough for me to even find the remains of the box of them that I had.

Now 223 tracers :) , that is a discussion for another thread that has nothing to do with rimfire.

I'm not surprised to read that Jack feels they are junk.
I haven't played with any .22RF tracer, but I did try USMil .223 and found them really lacking.
And the .223/5.56mm would be either 55gr or 62 gr, more than a 40gr rimfire bullet.

Now the 8x57mm Mauser gives a good loooong burn!

The only .22 tracer I have used was Eley brand. It was fun to plink with in low light, probably traced for at least 100 yards. Quite reliable.

.22 tracer was actually made in Canada in Saskatoon during the 60's when Gevelot had a plant located there. Nice stuff and there is still the odd box of it around.
Traces well to about 100 yards and quite visible in the daylight...

.22 Tracer

They are supposedly very harmful to the barrel because they light up to soon - not like centre fire tracers which dont light up till 100 yds or so

These tracers are different then the ones offered a couple of years back.
these are manufactured by piney mountain.

I found a link to someone useing them from an american 180 full auto. I think that these will be much more reliable than the previous manufacturer.
You can do a search for them. maybe check youtube as well.
