Ok I know it is a dumb question but can you reload rimfire ammo like 22's or 17's ?

No. Some people, however, reuse the cases as bullet jackets.

Reports years ago credited shooters in - of all places - Siberia with reloading .22 rimfire using a paste made of match heads for priming compound.

Never tried it, never had the slightest inclination to try. Results would be iffy and corrosion would probably be unbelievable. Plus which, .22 is cheap - why bother?

In short, theoretically possible but practically impractical.
