rimfires and action screws

How much bedding is needed for rimfire bolt actions. Any adverse effects of just holding it in place with the 2 action screws? I'm thinking of building a metal stock and noticed my savage FV isn't really touching much.

If the barrel floats, bedding the action may or may not return anything to you for the time.

Or you could float the action and bed the barrel in.

"Need" is a word that ill defines the boundaries, eh?

It needs as much as it takes to reach the best possible outcome, yes?

You are speaking about my 1945 Mossberg.
This one is a one hole shooter.

A CZ Scout 452 is a 1 screw and shoots like a laser.

Those actions touch wood for support. I'm wondering if I can just use the action screws to support the barreled action. Nothing else touching it
