Funny, I just bought a .22WMR off the EE a few days ago. While it's definitely not as economical as .22LR, the extra punch should be great for an extra 100 yards or so and should allow me to take coyotes with a bit more confidence.
But, in the case of Santa, you KNOW that he'll be there between the moment you finally fall asleep and when you wake up at the crack of dawn.
With Canada Post, you wonder if the reindeer ALL have red noses........ and are
probably somewhere over Zambia, heading for New Zealand.
Forgot to clarify my "toy".
GSG 1911 (.22cal LR) that comes with three heights of front sights and a fixed rear-sight.
Neither of the fixed three fronts pleased me (and no mechanical windage).
I'm not enough of a gunsmith (or tinkerer) to buy, online, a similar rear-sight and adjust it to fit, not when most sites say, "needs filing or needs milling......."
So, since I was paying to have it installed I asked for it to be zeroed in at 20yds (the distance at my indoors range. You probably know which one I mean.)
I hope you have fun (while I sit here, displaying and redisplaying CanadaPost's tracking and seeing my gun still in Edmonton.)
I just succumbed to the therapy also, not 1 but 2!!! CZ 452's, dewey cleaning supplies, extra mags, front rest and bags, several bricks of ammo, Leupold glass, GAWD, what is wrong with me??????
ah, Arnprior. i show up there once in a while just for the PPC matches, though me and two buddies are getting a 22LR rifle match going - informal, just for kicks. lemme know if you'd be up for it.
spent $230 at LeB today, and they've got TAX FREE DAYS now (24th to 27th) on most things, so instead of the 10% card it's now 13% and no card needed
Not Arnprior but the RA. Handguns (although I belong to the Rifle section too, I prefer handguns.)
Great tip re Tax-free. I need to buy some Ammo.
Cheers
And my gun was "Attempted delivery (carded) a little while ago. Of course, carded. I'm at work now.
ya, it's a new addiction to me, especially soothing when you realize just how much fun and how cheap it is to shoot compared to, oh i dunno, 357 Magnum.
............. if you live somewhere East (say Ontario) and you send your toy to a gunsmith in, say, BC, to install and zero in a fully adjustable sight and that gunsmith Canada-Post-Expedite-Parcels it and you "see" it sitting in Edmonton for more than three days (are they waiting for the monthly stage-coach?) after three previous days getting from Prince George to Edmonton (could have been carried by bicycle?), it is NOT nerve-relaxing at all.![]()
Tongue in cheek question, but I'm having one of those weeks where buying a rifle might just be what's required to salvage it.As it is a whim, I'm thinking something entirely impractical, and that I won't be able to shoot that often...like a .22 WMR.
Ever buy a rimfire to cheer yourself up? Did it work? lol
Does Epps in Orillia not do gunsmithing anymore? Seems like a silly distance to send a gun to have a sight fitted.
I'm new to this board (and to the Sport).
I asked around (not everybody, naturally). I even asked the gunsmith from whom I had bought the GSG. He didn't reply.
I had heard (read) a lot of good things about Gunnar.
I'm in the process of learning who gives good service, who carries more goodies, who cares enough to give a bit of an explanation in their answers and who replies, "NO".
I'm learning that Cabela's US won't send a speed loader (for a specific semi-auto) to Canada and that Cabela's Canada won't get it from their USA namesake.
Live and learn.
Rimfire therapy even works when buying one for someone else. Just ordered a Savage cub with a PINK laminate stock for my little girl who is very excited!
