Rimfires you WISH you'd bought....

1969 pristine Browning Trombone from the Custom Shop. pristine unfired in 40 yrs condition. missed it by $50.......eeergh
sidenote....if you bought it....i'll double the $50 that I missed by....

Most people find them gross, but I always wanted a Mateba Unica 6. Gunbroker used to be filled with them for dirt cheap, now when one does come around it's like a minimum of $2k. =(

I did buy my dream rimfire though, a Beretta 87 Target, and it's badass.

Yes not sure about these guys..they asked for my DL and PAL and don't have anything in stock.. I just told them to hold up and chill..sheese

I called them last week about a Glock 17 Gen 4, a S&W Model 41, a S&W 1911 Pro Series, a S&W Stainless 1911 and a Kimber Gold Match II and not one of them were in stock. They said that they can order one in for me.

Recently passed on buying a 94/22 trapper in .22wmr with nice marbles tang sight. Money was tight and you can't buy em all.

Missed an Anschutz 54.18 MSR a couple years ago in mint shape for $750 that one still haunts me.

Last, there was an Anschutz 1717 heavy barrel that sold for $1000 on the EE a little over a year ago. I replied first but didn't say I'll take it clearly enough so she slipped away.

I think I'll fix myself a scotch now.

My uncle passed away years ago. Stupid me, I hadn't done the PAL course after my FAC expired so had to see his guns go cheap at auction. Remington Nylon, Marlin 25 magnum (I"m guessing model, but believe correct), and a Hi Standard .22 pistol he used to use on the trap lines. He also had a Winchester 44-40 octagonal barrel that went cheap. :(

I always wanted a 10/22 wmr. I do have a winchester 9422 classic though.
Bought it brand new when I was a teenager and put maybe 5 boxes
of rounds through it. It was always too pretty to rattle around in a truck
but killed a bunch of ground hogs, a couple of coyotes and a fox or two.

A guy put an add on a non-gun related "buy & sale" site a few years ago, obviously he didn't check for current sale prices, he asked $250 for his like-new Win9422 in 22lr he had since like 20 yrs but never used it.
I talked to him on the phone a couple of time, but he just refused to ship the rifle. I even offered him $100 more for him to ship it by mail, no way, only local sale as he wasn't sure he could send a rifle in the mail he said :HR:

He was in Montreal, 900km away. I planned a trip to MTL a month or so after, I called him, just in case he would still have the rifle. What he told me blew me away:
It turned out he also had a Win94 Trapper 44 mag, bought same era and almost unused too. Well he sold the 9422 AND the Win94 Trapper BOTH for $400 to a gun store!! Wow talk about some store clerk with a grin on his face.

I immediatly checked at that store for used rifle, the Trapper was gone and the 9422 was there at $800!

I still kick myself for not taken a day or two and go get them myself, of course if I had knew about both rifles, I would have.

I have bought and sold hundreds of 22 rimfire's over the last 20 years, but these really stick in my mind:

1. Berreta semi-auto 22lr rifle with factory scope/mount in NIB condition!

2. Mauser 350B 22lr target complete with all sights including the rare peep sight along with the tangent sight.

3. Unique T Dioptra 22lr bolt action sporter, what idiot I was to miss out on it for a mere $100!!!
