I'm all galldarn excited now.
With the posts in OT about mortgage free and all, which I have been
for years, I have just officially bought me a new sweetie pie.
Thanks Del, you are the man.........:)
Bought my first new Browning T-Bolt in the cammo.
Hate to sound like a noogee, but this is waaaay cool......:p
Now what to do for optics?
I know I shouldn't cheap out, but need to feed the gang here
as well.
I'm kicking myself in the arse for not buying the one he recommended,
but I was just all over meeself in his shop.
I shulda got a kick in the knackers just so I could focus, so to speak.:kickInTheNuts:
I have a couple optics around here to use in the meantime, so I'm not
toothless.
I think I would prefer a strong variable, something a bit higher powered than
the 3 x 9. My right eye is stumbling a bit as the grey hairs start sneaking in.
Toss some ideas at me. Ya ya, jump, jump.
Warm fuzzies ain't gonna hurt today, eye'ma buzzing.......;):p:):D
Thanks for any/all suggestions.
Cheers all.
Looky.

Hey looky

I've got the Leupold VX-I 2-7x28mm Rimfire Riflescope mounted on my Savage Arms.
A bit pricey compared to the econo ones out there like Bushnell Rimfire or Tasco...etc.
But you'll quickly come to appreciate the build quality, clarity of the optics and smooth positive controls.
It's probably the best rimfire scope out there with exception to the EFR model.
I went with a smaller scope, a 33mm objective is available if you choose to go bigger.

I have a Leupold VX1 2-7x28mm RF on my savage as well..... worth every penny. I've only ever put $50 - $100 scopes on .22lr rimfires before..... the quality of this Lleupold rimfire scope is outstanding

I have only purchased two scopes before in my life. One for a 30-06, and one for a 10/22 custom build. They were both Mueller brand scopes from White Falls, who is a sponsor here, is he not?
Either way the quality of the 10/22 scope (APV) is great. Look up reviews for the Mueller APV before you commit to buying one - many people on rimfirecentral speak highly of 'em and mine is crystal clear.

I have a Sightron SllB 6-24X42 SIL for rimfire silhouette. Excellent optic. If you want the same power but spend a little less dough you could opt for the Sll 6-24X42. They also have 3-12s and 4-16s if you want a little less magnification. I have two Sightron Sllls and one SllB and I am very impressed with all of them. I have never looked through their Sll series though.

Hey Mike
Wait till you try out the 3-9 EFR some time, maybe the next time we go to the range. FS

And after trying the 3-9 EFR, you would be amazed by the Kahles CL 3-9x42 scopes that I mounted on my Cooper 22lr, and my Cooper 17Mach2 to replace the 3-9EFRs.

There is no doubt the Kahles products are far superior to the EFR, but they are quite a bit more money are they not? FS

I bought four of the CL 3-9x42s from Clay for $650 each including taxes. He bought out what CDNN had left over at a great price, and passed on the savings to his customers. That is About $125 more than Clay charges for a new 3-9x33 EFR after taxes.
