Rimmed vs. non-rimmed

I was working today and had a old German man come in and ask for dies for a 6.5x57 Rimmed. I looked through the RCBS book and found that they make dies for a 6.5x57mm Mauser. He told me the 6.5x57 Rimmed is just a 57mm Mauser case with a rim.

My question is whether or not 6.5x57mm mauser dies would work for the same cartridge that has a rim. I can't see why not, obviously the shellholder would be different.

Yep, just like the 7X57R, the biggest problem is getting the 57R brass.

All of the German cartridges that I am aware of with both rimmed and rimless versions use identical dies except for the shellholder.
I personal use and load the 7x57 / 7x57R, 8x57IRS / 8x57IS, and 7x64 - the 7x65R is identical to the 7x64 but for some reason Brenneke made the 65R case 1MM longer, but it still uses the same dies as the rimless 64.
RCBS #26 is the correct shellholder for all the above rimmed cases. - Note correction!
