Is it a bad time to order one of these actions? I’ve had v22’s before and was thinking of trying one of these Rimx ones in 17hmr but I came across a bunch of people complaining of bolt lug galling and softer metal being used for the bolts. Not sure if I should avoid for now and stick to my cz 457 or have a go at one of the Rimx actions. Any input?

I had a real beauty RIMX (Early) which I sold because the bolt
chambering was too heavy for me .

True. Maybe I’m better off trying a Lilja 17hmr barrel for my cz 457. Atleast it costs a lot less than putting one together with a Rimx action.

The Rim X bolt lug galling issue appears to have been addressed but I'd bet there are still some actions sitting on shelves out there for sale with the "soft" lugs.
For a 17HMR, I wouldn't bother with a Rim X (And I own one in 22LR).

There’s a Vudoo v22 17hmr barreled action that also sounds kind of neat but a lot of money for something that’s only a gopher gun. I’m thinking a nice barrel for my cz 457 is maybe the best bet

Just received mine . 700 footprint like the rimx or vudoo. Canandain made . They were super helpful and responsive to questions. Havnt shot it yet but it is a very nice action. Hopefully get it out to the in the next few days .

At 50 and 100yds Remington magnum 17gr ammo is shooting same holes in my cz457

I’m kinda interested in the deuce 2.0 now. Hoping the lugs don’t have the issue like the Rimx action with the soft lugs rubbing off or wearing off harshly

I think it will be good. A few people tested them and put 5000 plus rounds through them and didn't hear any negativity.
