Ring height for AR 22 flat top

need more info? Scope? Rifle? It maybe easier to just take the scope + rifle into a shop and have them help you.
That being said, it's usually outside diameter of the scope's objective divided by 2, then add 3mm for flip-up caps (or scope bikini). That would give you MINIMUM height of rings from center of ring/scope to top of picatinny rail.

What I meant to ask was if on the flat top (AR22, Ruger 10/22) should I be mounting the scope higher than minimum?
The stock is the same height as the rail.
I haven't shot this configuration before and the shop wouldn't let me buy all 3 heights of rings (low, med and high) and return the ones I didn't like.
