First off, I am not certain if this belongs here or in the optics forum; either way, Mods please feel free to move if necessary...

I am looking for some help in selecting the proper ring height for my Tikka T3 Varmint with an EGW 20 MOA base. I am looking to purchase Badger Ordnance rings (30mm) in order to mount a Sightron 8-32x56

Just wondering if anybody has a similar setup, or can offer advice on the proper height ring (I don't want to spend $200 on a set of rings only to find out I've bought the wrong height...)

Thanks in advance for any and all help.

only thing I can add is my t3 lite with egw 20 moa base xtr low rings a weaver 4-20x50 and scope caps is tight around 5mm. Varmint barrel is bigger and 56mm maybe mediums ? one other note with lows and egw my scope is pushed forward maybe more then some but my power knob is very very close to the egw base

Thanks for your post.

I actually contacted Badger Ordnance directly and they got back to me within hours. They have suggested the medium-high rings.

I'm running almost same setup (T3 Varmint, EGW 0moa rail, NF x56 optic) and I'm using TPS LOWs. I would suggest a Medium ring by Badger would work fine.

I have having too much gap between the objective and barrel! :)

EDIT to add: I checked TPS lows, and they are 0.925" base to centerline... Badger Mediums are 0.885"... you'd be too low in my opinion.

Thought Badger would err on the side of caution, but it appears they are correct in their Medium-High suggestion ;)
