Have one on order, should be here early next week :runaway:

Not much info out there on base/ring combo's on this setup. Some claim that you need high or even X-high rings while some claim no issues with hammer clearance while using medium rings...

I picked up a Weaver one piece base (82?) and a set of high Burris Sig Zee rings today, will give them a go first I guess.

Any experience here with this set up? What are you using and with what optics?

I use the DNZ High mounts with a 44mm objective or the Dura Sight Z2 Medium mounts with 32-40mm objectives. I have also use the Weaver #82 with Dura Sight Medium QD rings for 40mm scopes.

So, the Hornet has arrived and I've mounted my optics. The Weaver mount with the high Signature Zee rings worked perfectly. The scope I chose from the pile was a nice new Sightron SIIBS in 3-9x42 with a dot/fine crosshair reticle. Hammer clearance is perfect, looks fantastic. Highly recommend this scope if anyone is in the market for nice midrange glass.

Did you buy your Hornet from Epps? I noticed that one had come in and they marked it sold... I have four H&R Hornets... I have reamed them all to K-Hornet.

Hoytcanon, i know there is no excuse for rifle looneyism, but why 4 of the same rifle? You run a club or something?

I have three kids... I built them each a K-Hornet to their individual taste... my youngest daughters is a pink and grey laminate, my son's is a walnut/cocobolo mannlicher, the one pictured above is mine and is paired with a .22 BR Remington.

The K-Hornet is our favorite round at the range and for Varmint plinking... sometimes when I am lucky, all four are barking at the same time...
