Thinking of getting a Cabela's caliber specific scope for my new NS 522, good move or bad?
I also will need to purchase some rings, any suggestions on what to buy? Any advise appreciated. :)

Check out the Vortex Crossfire II 4-12x44mm AO BDC reticle scope, I did on the advice of another thread and I was sold. It was actually clearer (in my eyes) than the Vortec Diamondback. I was going to get a 3-9x Prostaff rimfire but the 522 being as accurate as it is could benefit from a little higher magnification. I will have to check out these Hawke rings though, everywhere seems to be sold out of weaver to 3/8" dovetail adapters.

I used a set of Warne 7.3 rings in medium height on mine. I can't remember where they came from but had them in my cupboard. I'm using a Simmons 6-18 x40 scope. It's higher than I like off the barrel but lines up perfectly with my eye so for now I will leave it. I plan on switching it out to an Oculus 6-24x50 when I sell a couple of things. This ring height will work great with the 50 mm bell.
Scott...

A lot of Chinese rings/bases/scopes are crap, but I found some of the UTG stuff to be OK. Threads don't strip first time you tighten them lol

Yes, Warnes 7.3 are also my rings of choice.
