Rings or Cantilever for razor 6-36

I have used multiple sets of ATRS rings. They are well made and hold tight, have them on everything from 223 to 300 magnum. Provided they make the right size and height, of course.

No need for a cantilever mount on a bolt gun. I run both my 6-36s in MDT One Piece mounts. They're great mounts.

I’m really liking the MDT one piece mount. What height would work best

I am not a fan of a cantilever on a precision rifle, go with rings, or the one piece unitized mount, like MDT or SPUHR.

I run the high ones (1.5") on all of my rifles, that way they can be swapped between rifles whether they have monolithic/continuous upper rails or not. If memory serves, the Tikka Tac A1 has a continuous upper rail so the high (1.5") ones would be a good fit.

So I was on the MDT.ca and the 1.5 height is out of stock I guess I’ll be buying rings instead unless othe one mounts 1.5 height out there in stock?

If the particular fit of the stock + action + scope eye relief + scope turret + the shooter lines up such that the scope needs to be farther forward or back than rings can achieve, then you should go with a cantilever mount. There's really no way to know how that equation goes together until you try it. Or at least find someone with the same scope+action+stock and get behind their rifle to see if it has the proper eye relief for you.

For that Tac 223 I'd run rings on that. probably mediums or highs. For an RPR I'd run a cantilever mount or rings that go up to 1.5" high as I find that works well for the shape of my face.
