Rip off price of small pistol primers

A friend and I stopped at the Caroline supplies to see what they had in small pistol primers. They had them in stock but wanted $65.99 per 1000. I said I will wait until the price comes down at which the person working there stated that the price won't ever be coming down. He was also selling .357 mag (50) for $45. Looking at other stuff we noticed that everything was way overpriced.

Obviously Jesse and Frank James are not dead yet as we found them running a sporting goods store in Caroline.

We went to Rocky Mountain House and their small pistol primers were $44.99 per 1000. That's $21 difference. Wow!

What brand?

I though Le Baron here in Toronto was getting crazy when their CCI primers (sp, lp, sr, lr) went up to almost $28.00/1000

They sell Winchester for around $35.00/1000

I found SPP on line for $32/1000.... verses the $46 I pay here (when they have them).... Even when I include shipping, it still comes out cheaper.... ($45 per 5000 for shipping = $9 per box) I still save $5 a box from local prices!!

Went to a gun show last weekend and paid $47.00 for 1000 Large pistol primers. Prices are getting pretty rich, so I have been grabbing primers when I find them.

My wholesale prices on CCI SPP are $32/1000
and $37.50/1000 on Wincesters so $38-$45/1000 SPP
is reasonable with it being alittle higher in more remote
places due to extra costs involved.

Mind you , none of my distributors have anything but LPM and LRM left with no time frame on new ones!

I just bought 10x 1000 Win small pistol for $31/ea and 10x 1000 Fed Gold Medal Match Large Rifle for $31/ea.

..Locally.

But I'll never tell. ;)

It really seems to me you guys out West are hit much harder by the price increase and scarcity than we are here.

I think you are right. I just bought my last batch from out east. Nobody in alberta had anything as far as primers goes.

I can tell you that westerners are hoarding like the crazy. Supply and demand is starting to kick in out here.

I'm starting to wonder if every time we post this stuff we encourage a store to raise their prices. :D I'm laughing but I'm still thinking it.

I was gonna post what I just paid for primers and brass, its cheaper than your paying out west but prices are going up here too.

At what point does the average reloader reach the pinnacle of his hoarding and call it quits? :)

I noticed on US websites that people are seeing stock staying on the shelves, mostly because of high prices, I think we are seeing the top of the curve, supplies will start to catch up and demand will reduce, forcing dealers to drop the price to move stuff. As people may be sitting on large amounts, they may not come back to the store for awhile.
