Riton scopes

A few years ago I was looking for a scope to put on a new Zastava M70 in 6.5 x 55 for varmint and range use. I did the usual stuff; reading reports, searching adverts, talking to other shooters. Always lots of (really expensive) advise. Fine scopes, I am sure, but well out of reach for my budget. I ended up gambling on something that was not real common at the time, but had features I liked, good reviews, and a price point that almost seemed to be too good to be true; a Riton 1 Primal 4-16 X 44. This scope continues to impress me with it's clarity and persistent accuracy. Since installing it, I have compared it to a bunch of other scopes of comparable specifications, and it's clarity is as good as, or better than scopes costing up to twice as much or even more.



Fast forward to present day...

I recently acquired a CZ 455 Super Match and wanted a precise .22 with a scope. My intent was to put the same scope on it as I did on the Zastava 6.5 x 55. While looking for a good deal on line I stumbled on their 1 CONQUER 6-24×50 that is on sale at Tenda for $235.00 (Regular $379). A couple of features that appealed to me was the Zero Stop system and a very nice, and super fine reticle with a simple dot in dead centre.

I ordered it and installed it with the no name mounts that came with the rifle. I had a leather cheek-pad/riser kicking around and it provides a perfect cheek wield for me. Yesterday I took it to the range to get it zeroed and do some ammo testing in the rifle. I am totally satisfied with it. I holds focus as you zoom in and out; focus and parallax adjustment work great. Zero stop was easy to set up and works perfectly well.

So far, I am very happy with it, and based on the performance of my first Riton Scope, I am anticipating a long and happy relationship with it.

I really want to try one of their lpvos , I have one of those $99 red dots from frontier on the way aswell.

I' own a cheap red-dot; I always forget to switch them off. Better ones have an auto on and auto off which would help.

I do have a old Lower power scope on my 9.3 x 62. 1950's or 1960's Tasco; period correct for the rifle. It shoots MOA or less as long as your shoulder hangs in there. LOL

Interesting. I think their website says all scopes have etched reticles.

I had the primal 4-16 , either the crosshairs let go and rotated or the lens did

It was on a 7 mm RM

The detachable mount, German I think, allows use of iron sights under scope, but the scope also slides on and off the dovetail in seconds and so far has been repeatable.

Only the last three three shot groups were measured and averaged, the first was considered a fouler. Spread was measured centre to center (Widest point - .22" = Group size)

Strange how none of my other rifles like automatch, but this one does; my 452 loves Tac22, this one not at all.

Rifles like what they like.

When the weather turns a bit and I can get on the 100 yard, that will tell the tale.

A guy at my club has a Savage Mk II FVT (heavy barrel and globe sights) I gave him some to try and his rifle loved the stuff!

I took the CZ455 Super Match out to our 100 yard range and only worked with Tac-22 and CCI Std.

Having sighted in at 20 yards previously I used a large bulls eye Pistol target to see where it was shooting using Tac-22; it was pretty much right on for windage and based on the rings on the target, about 7 1/2 " low. I dialed up the zero stop turret 21 clicks and was pleasantly surprised it was in the centre of the bulls eye. There was very little wind, and it was hovering around 0 C. I was using a cheap Amazon Carbon Fibre Bipod and a rear bag.

Even with my old eyes, cataracts and all, I was able to see the holes in the paper from 100 yards, so adjusting was easy.

I set up a target with 1" circles with a centre dot Best I could do with the Tac-22 was about 1 1/2" some were over 2".

I switched to CCI Std and it was much better; most groups a bit over 1" with two that were <1". I am impressed with both the Scope and the Rifle at this point.

Next steps are to practice more and likely do a bedding job on the stock.
