RJ Renner

For holiday kicks and giggles I drafted up a stock blueprint for a Rem 700 type 1:1. I used data from original Springfield technical documents as most if not all American bolt rifles are either the brown or red-headed stepchild of same -- the father being Mauser, of course! I find doing the plan in metric offers a heck of a lot more simplicity to the design. With this, the line of sight is 27 mm above boreline corresponding +/- 1mm from centerline of a one inch scope on S&K low rings and bases. If a lower scope was desired, or iron sights, then the line of sight could be dropped and with it the other stock measurements.

These are, incidentally, specs that are more or less identical across Springfield, Mauser, and Mannlicher Schonauer. From a basic drawing such as this individual stock spec can be easily determined and drafted, with grip placement relative the trigger, cast and comb and whatever being highly individual.

Merry Christmas

Can the stock duplicator do the inletting of one pattern onto another pattern stock ? Eg Ross Rifle inletting on a pre 64 win style stock?

Based on pics there'd need to be some alteration in the external dimensions of the stock as the action appears quite a lot wider on the Ross.

If researching Ross sporters there is quite a body of factory and custom produced stocks of early vintage to show what can be done with that rifle. It's pretty slick. I've been waiting for another ever since I sold a full length but wood-chopped Ross on here for $250.
