Rl 17 temp sensitive?

Hey guys, just wondering if anybody has used rl17 in hot and cold weather yet and seen any signs of temperature sensitivity? Kinda like rl 22

i have been using rl 17 in one of my 308win.with the 208 amax and the 210 bergers.it just loves them and the powder compo.

cant say much about temperature sensebility because i have only been shooting in the winter here but one thing i can say is i find it to be preaty dirty.

check out some of the other american forums they do alot more shooting in the warm weather luck buggers
 
Why wait for weather? Run a temperature test on the ammo:

Pretty easy to do with a couple of coolers, some ice and a heating pad.
 
Rifle temperature affects velocity for the first couple shots, then the barrel warms up. It's only a factor if you're worrying about cold bore, first shot hits. If you're shooting groups, it's effect is gone after your fouler/sighter shots.
 
Only in that it affects the powder temperature if you let the rounds soak...

The difference in chamber dimensions due to temperature have a minimal affect on velocity that is lost in the white noise of the system.

Varget is a Hodgdon Extreme Powder that is supposed to be temperature insensitive. The other powders in KOMBAYOTCH's graph are not Hodgdon Extreme Powders.

Thanks for the effort with the graph. My range time and hunting temps should be pretty close - 10 - 15 c, but any othe info is still welcome
