RL550B Precision Reloads?

So after countless hours researching, I have finally made up my mind on a progressive. I feel this press will suit all my needs for the volume I shoot. I am curious though if anyone is using theirs to feed a "precision rifle"? I am well aware there is no replacement for a single stage in this regard(which I have already), but I am wondering if a person could run 100 or 200 rounds of 308 or 223 and expect decent accuracy out to 4 or 500 yards. I am looking for steel plinking rounds, not looking for 1 hole groups. I am wondering if too much would be lost from a solid load on a single stage to the same load on the RL550? Regardless its the press I want, just curious if its possible to bang off some plinking rounds with decent results. Thanks.
 
Do some looking on the web for John Whidden. He makes and sells a tool head for them that is better. At one point he made the USA Palma team loading with one of them. Good guy as well.

Thanks for the info. I checked out the site and I have heard of his stuff before but never checked it out. Needless to say, that makes me very excited to try precision loads on the RL550. Prices on the toolheads were more than reasonable I thought.
 
I have the same press and use it to "bulk" load .308 / 30-06 plinking rounds loaded with bulk cam-pro projectiles. The powder measure has significant variability in the charge weights it throws but is within the acceptable range for "blasting" ammo. I also use the press to load match ammo and replace the automated powder measure with a funnel. I manually weigh the charge then use the funnel to fill the case before moving it to the next die. Faster than single stage with equal load accuracy when I need it.

That's also a good idea weighing individual charges. I could incorporate the whidden tool head and have the tools for some reasonably accurate progressive reloads.

308 Palma loads were made on a Dillon 1050 IIRC.

Proper setup and as usual attention to detail is the key it seems. I have been looking into a 550B as well just for the entertainment value!
