my brother has picked these 2 bucks up in the last week or so. The first one we got last night on a highway ten minutes from my house, hit by a transport. The other was last week, said he almost put the truck in the ditch when he seen the rack on the side of the road. Sorry for the crappy cellphone pics.

I hit a speedgoat on August 31st while heading out spotting for mule deer. (season opened the following day) He was probably a 76" gross animal but his skull was completely shattered..

we just phone the MNR, my buddy has a friend from school on speed dial that works for the mnr. Call him up, tell him where we got it, said noone was around to claim the deer (which is true) he says have at er!

the first buck was hit by a transport we believe, since it was pretty much cut in half. The second one had a smashed up rear end, bit of road rash but he got quite a few pounds of meat. He also feeds what he can to his hounds and barn cats. Makes them happy.

I wish New Brunswick would get out of the stone age.You get caught with road kill and it's a big fine and possible loss of license. You have to call the mounties, who calls DNR,who throws them in a dump in the woods.

I don't know what the regs are there. But in B.C. you phone the C.O s and have to cut your tag for it.

You have to call the co, but don't have to cut your tags. You didn't kill it, you didn't hunt it. The CO gives you verbal permission to possess it and you're fine. Had a truck paste a deer in front of me this summer and asked the CO before I dragged it to my car.

If you own a pickup truck with blood stained ram bars on the front and are "finding" fresh roadkill every week, they'll get suspicious. :p

Just got off the phone to the conservation office. In B.C. sometimes it is given to charity or if you keep it . You need a permit $75.00 or they can tell you to cut your tag.

It would take an empty fridge and hungry mouths for me to have to pay $75 for road kill...

Here its free, and if nobody wants it, the municipality has to pay their guys to go out and clean it up. They'd rather we just took it off the road for them...

yeah, friend went through a road check this year in BC, had a buck with him and a scull with antlers he found in the bush (obvious to tell it was old) CO's confiscated the scull and said he either has to call and get permission before taking it into his posession, or have a cut tag for it.
