...or maybe to prove the rifle does in fact shoot as claimed. I'll be the first to admit I've never been a fan of Robarms, and the XCR (at least the very early ones) have been dogs from the get go. Who knows, maybe they have changed their game in a big way?

Either way we'll have a good range day shooting some cool toys and meet some nice fellow gunnutz in person - what is so crazy about that?

For sure any day at the range is a good one but what do you get when the XCR does not perform as intended? Your dinner and all the ammo paid for?

I suppose I get nothing other than a decent range day on a range I've never been to, meeting
some decent, like-minded shooters, and some trigger time on a rifle I haven't shot for a couple of years.

I'm more happy with my xcr after reading this thread, going to buy some of that ammo and i am gonna mount up the 16x scope and go shoot some groups...had the rifle out today, decent shooter using mfs stuff

nice shooting, and dont sell yourself short on those pillows. I think you did a fine job on both. The white one with the yellow center is super cute.. Anyway, I'd be happy with those three round groups anytime as would most of the majority of the non-haters out there.

sharpshooter jr.

i have ran that fiochi ammo in my xcr and the primers were all bulging out, was all over the place on target. I haven't got to setting one and had anything cycle properly. my 223 xcr runs on 2 with everything. also noticed you changed the flash hider, don't know if this could possibly have an benefit for accuracy also. no mention of it in thread. im excited for the shoot off. all my experience is with a gen 1 xcr.

The flash hider is a thought. I had major accuracy issues with my 6.8 barrel / bolt. Touched up the crown and removed the brake, single fed 110 gr. sph's over 28 gr. of Benchmark, got .5 for the first 3, opened up to .9 for the last 2, for a total of 5 rounds. this was at 100 yd. off a pack. The rest were fired off hand at gongs at 100 and went where they were pointed. Now I've got to try the .223 and see what it does.

Both my brother and I each own an XCR-L and have been getting great accuracy at anything from 50m indoor range and 200 yards outdoor range with 2 type of factory ammo.
Both PMC 55gr M193 ammo and Hornady 60gr TAP-FDP ammo deliver 1cm by 1cm 5 shot groups at 50m with a 6-24x50mm target scope adjustable for parallax.
One of the rifle averaged 2.5" 5 shot groups with 60gr TAP-FDP at 200 yards while the other shoot around 3".

My conclusion: a good XCR-L 223 Rem is close to a 1 MOA rifle at 100 yards with the right ammo.
Remember that a good HB AR15 is much better than a 1 MOA rifle at 100 yards (some 6.8 SPC AR15 rifles can shoot 0.5 MOA with reloads - Hodgdon reloading manual 2010?!?!)

Well, I sprained my ankle quite severely falling down the basement stairs yesterday, so I'm going to have to put this off for some time...

A sprained ankle requires 3 days of elevation and ice to heal fast and well, don't use it for weight bearing and you should be fine long before the 20th,,,
You can also find ankle supports for very little money that will protect you from rolling over on it again,,,
The muscles that normally react and stabilize before a roll of the ankle takes place will not be working well until they heal, so be careful if bearing weight and ice and elevation are key to the quickest recovery,,,

Please try and suck it up if that is necessary and make the shootout as I don't think I can handle waiting any longer for this, it's killing me waiting this long already,,,

Best of luck healing fast Beltfed, and if you time your tranny shifts right with the engines RPM you may not need to use a clutch to shift, can you tell I really want to see this shootout happen LOL,,,

Cheers

Oh man, so weak sauce.

I've put my life on hold awaiting this outcome. I skipped out on a job promotion and a transfer in the hopes to witness this.
