Just thinking about getting myself one of these, I have heard various reports on accuracy with the .223 but not much at all with the 7.62 x 39.

What kind of groups are you getting?

How does the surplus function in the rifle? Primer strike issues at all?

Any issues with corrosion?

I have an sks, and owned a CZ 858 so in comparison this thing seems a breeze to clean!

I guess Im just nervous about putting that corrosive stuff through a $2500 gun!

Thanks
Mark

Are you serious with this topic?

Well doesnt appear anyone wants to brag! There has been some discussion on the topic, and from what I understand it is acceptable but thats about it!

For $2500?????????? WTF?????????????????

Id rather Tapco f**k a Mini 14/30 or an SKS!!!!!

Im not comparing bolt actions. Like i said before if i anted 2-4 moa id buy a sks or mini. And there are plenty of ar platforms shooting moa for 1000 bucks less than an xcr. I guess if your like camp cook and shoot only in the woods it would make sense to have an xcr but for a range toy i dont think it can be argued it is better than an ar.

Well when the op asks about accuracy there has to be a reason and some benchmark to compare the groups to. In this case the best possible would be an ar the worst sks or mini. I thought it was obvious the op wanted to see if it was worth buyin an xcr. So my opinion is no you can get a mini and even a troy stock and get away cheaper.

Yeah I am dead serious?

I am obviously not thinking about getting it for the accuracy!

In .223 I wouldnt dream of it but there are limited options for 7.62 x 39 right now!

Thanks for your useless post though!

I just got offered a great deal and I already have an SKS and sold my CZ and the mini seems alot harder to clean if firing corrosive ammo!

Edit: On second thought you are right! Thanks for reminding me! I wont be purchasing this anytime soon!

Whoever can afford a $2300 rifle can afford to reload. Why buy an expensive suit to wear with cheap shoes? Buy an CZ-858 if you want to shoot corrosive stuff. Neitarms will treat if for you.

BTW Gunzilla works great, had it even before Neitarms was selling it.

Getting back to the topic. I had an XCR in X39. It shot great, was accurate and extremely reliable. I shot non corrosive wolf ammo.
It's lacquered steel green cases nevertheless, similar in composition to the Czech stuff. I don't see why it should not work with the corrosive stuff as good, but I advise against it since its not a cheap rifle.
