Robar SR90 (.308 Win)

At the $4000 price range there are many choices out there. Some of my favorites being the Sako TRG 22, HS Precision HTR 2000 and mabey my next .308, an FNH SPR A3.

But, what the hell, if the Robar floats your boat get it, and don't forget to post pics and range results!

Robbie Barkman's outfit does for sure build quality pieces, but they are not what I would consider custom made. More along the line of customized factory offering. His company reworks actions, instals barrels and stocks.
There is no real magic here, any truly competent gunsmith can accomplish the same thing. Unlike smaller custom shops that perform the same basics his parameters are more limited. If you desire something out of the norm, say in caliber or action or stock options, it may be difficult to get his company to oblige you.
Comparing his product to what is produced by HS Precision I believe is closer to a direct comparison than to Sako TRG.
All still good gear, but certainly a true handbuilt custom has the potential to out perform nearly all production and semi production rifles.
Some get the warm fuzzy feeling from owning a known name rifle, others prefer to have 1 built to their personal tastes and requirements.
Either way $4000.00 should get a damn fine rifle

Yes i would Andy is/was a fantastic builder of rifles built on the rem 700 platform.

My f class project will sport a Robertson stock now all i have to figure out is if it will be a Speedy or Master class design.

The advantage of going custom is that you can integrate your own ideas into your system, rather than those thought to be marketable by someone else. In my case a 1:8 twist 28" Krieger barrel, Jewell trigger, Anschutz rail added to the A-5 stock. There is still a bit of tweaking to do, but it's coming.

What caliber ya got there boomer and who did the work for you?

Dave JENNINGS just lives an hour down the road from me and he does SUPERB work!! Can't go wrong with his work.

PGWDTI makes a great action if your looking in the price range of the ROBAR. I just talked with ROBAR about exporting and they have nothing to do with it. You will have to source out an independant firearms Exporter in the USA to do the work. Its expensive and if they do a crap job on the paperwork work your materpiece rifle will sit in a warehouse until it grows mold before your able to sort it out. Take my advice on this. Should you wish to explore that option I would be happy to email you the contacts I made when looking into importing my next purchase. You can then speak to them and make your own informed decision.

The other issue is as mentioned is that the ROBAR is a tricked out REM700. Thats a lot of bucks for a REM. PGW is making an incredible action however they are hugely busy. You will wait but from what I've seen of the Timberwolf you'd be happy!

HS Precision, AI, and others are also pre-fab excellent quality rifles and are available from Canadian distributors. Buying and supporting someone here and having them go throught the S**T and abuse of getting it into Canada rather than you is well worth a few extra $$ . Many have rifles in stock if you call. ROBAR makes a hell of a rifle but there are several others just as well made or better for that kind fo money.

Call John @ Wolverine Supplies to discuss options from them, He's great to work with!!

Good luck!! :D :D
