I actually had a recent and unexpected issue. Few weeks ago at my range my rifle heated up pretty badly and my accuracy went absolutely bonkers - literally my usual 3-4 inch groups turned into worse than sks barn door accuracy. So I brought the gun home and upon inspection noticed the gas adjustment knob was fully loose and did not stay in place. Not knowing how to fix this I sent it to wolverine for repair. The gents at wolverine fixed it and tested for accuracy and I will be receiving it back shortly.
During my email conversations with the gunsmith at wolverine however he never fully explained to me what broke and how he fixed it, so I am hoping some folks here have some insight in case it happens again so I can fix it myself. I also noticed my gas tube would not separate from my barrel. It was super tight and I could not get it off by hand. (i have the competition model) Has anyone else ran into this? What did you do to get it off?
FYI i have around 2k rounds down her.
Type 3 Gas system and Tube, no experience here. Wild ass guessing, did you ever lube it with oil or grease? Maybe carbon solidified, caused a pressure issue and blew out your gas selector.

Ive always had an itch for an XCR and recently the XCR-L competition variant caught my eye (considering getting into 3 gun)
Are these more accurate than the regular XCRs? Or are they simply a regular XCR with a longer hand guard?
I know this is a rather old question but I figure I'll give my input. I recently upgraded to a competition model from a regular keymod. In my experience and opinion the new Wylde chamber in the Comp model is shooting my spam can norinco 5.56 ammo significantly better.
Previously my old keymod rifle (with a cold pencil barrel, ACOG 4x32, prone resting on my range bag) would print 5rd groups of norinco in the 3-5" size range.
My new competition model grouped the same ammo consistently under 2" while zeroing the ACOG.
I have yet to test some higher end ammo (hornady superformance 75grn) which previously grouped at sub 1" in my old keymod.
More info and pics in my thread about XCR accuracy.
Has anyone came up with a working fix for the stupid lower reciever take down pin retaining clamp? It pops off so easily.
I install the pin to mate upper and lower, put on the retainer clip so that the open side faces down, then close the upper/lower together to trap the retainer clip in the "up" position. I hope that makes sense.
Interesting
Is it noticeably heavier than the regular model?
Have you tried hand loading to improve accuracy further?
