Robarms XCR FAQ post

How do you know there's supposed to be an o-ring there? I don't see it on their parts diagrams...
Wolverine

EDIT: Just talked with Wolverine and they said it's no problem to shoot it without the o-ring. It's only in there to retain the pin so losing it is less likely. They have an order in for more replacements o-rings.

Excuse my stupid question, but how can you tell the difference between the old xcr trigger and the new one? I know the answer is on here somewhere but I really don't want to dig through a few hundred posts.
Any help would be greatly appreciated from this super noob. lol

I totally get that. I'd like to know too.

I think the old trigger was known for having trigger slap.

Trigger slap at level 4 on the gas valve was normal and due to high pressure level (See operator's manual - it's written there also).
Rotating gas valve on the gas block and lowering to level 1 or 2 was good enough for daily shooting and no trigger slap.
Level 3 or 4 was for break-in period with hot loads like Federal American Eagle.

And for the 7.62x39 users out there... Have a look at that video:

So I was out at the range the other day and noticed that when my bolt was locked back, a good swift strike on the back of the butt stock sent the bolt forward. Anyone else experience this?

Most semi-autos will do that, bump the butt on an AR15 or M14(M305) with the bolt open and it will slam shut too. Though XCR-L rifles seem to take a bit less to bump to set the bolt free.

Mine was doing this also. I'd got in the habit of lifting the release with my right index finger while loading a mag, keeping slight pressure on it so the bolt stays open.
I don't honestly remember the last time it happened but I can drop the rifle on the butt now and the bolt doesn't move.
For reference, the rifle is 13 months old and round count is 7200. I'll guess the last time the bolt slammed closed was at ~1000 rounds.

We are a few CGNers to have that same problem with the XCR.

It is the the bolt hold open which is starting to worn out.

A few owners on XCRforums also mentionned about that issue.

Back in the time, I've called Wolverine Supplies to have a replacement part XCR-XLPBC and it cost me 19$ + shipping.

After installing the new one, I never had any problem..

This is the kind of wear it gave the the bolt hold open:

Howdy!

New here, first post.

My name is darren, I live in Edmonton (Spruce Grove), just turned 40 and have 2 kids (4 and 6). I am just getting back into shooting after a 20 year break. Things have changed a bit.....

Currently I am anxiously awaiting to receive a new model (s/n XL095xx) XCR-L 5.56 non restricted that I purchased privately. Should be here any day.

I have read a lot of the 136 pages here, didn't get anything done at work yesterday :)
Really great info and resources here, THANKS!

I am trying to figure out the new to me "laws" and I have 1 question .... It it legal to use the LAR-15 10 round magazines in the XCL-R?

I found this on here: https://shopquestar.com/shopping65/shopcontent.asp?type=Mag Ruling (thanks) which is from 2007 and tells me yes the mag are not regulated and you can use them in any firearm you like (at least that is how I read it). This is great news to me.

However, there is this: http://www.rcmp-grc.gc.ca/cfp-pcaf/bulletins/bus-ent/20110323-72-eng.htm bulletin from 2013 that says "Magazines designed or manufactured for use in both semiautomatic rifles and semiautomatic handguns are subject to the limit of five cartridges." which tells me that they are not legal. However .... I just purchased some LAR-15 10 round magazines legally in Canada so I am confused. Can I legally use them?

Thanks for the great info here

Legal (I think you mean you're getting the XCR-L?) The LAR15 was designed for the 10 round pistol. So, 10 rounds. It just so happens to also fit your rifle.

I've got one. I'm in Edmonton (Edmonton). I've got an XCR-M. Maybe we can go out sometime. I'm a member at CHAS.

PS WELCOME TO CGN! Go to the noob section and say hi there too, then you can apply for access to the EE>

Yes I paid for the XCR-L on Monday but it is not here yet. I hope it shows up today......

Sounds good, I have applied for CHAS membership but don't have it yet. It would be great if I could go there with a member to show me the ropes.
Seems there are lots of rules now ..... last place I was a member (20 years ago) was the Lethbridge Fish and Game range and I was usually the only one there ... and I don't remember any "rules" ..... just show up and blast away!

I just got my PAL a little while ago.
I have been shooting on some private land by Seba Beach and having a blast, have a ruger mini 14 (and a couple thousand round of Norinco :)) and a 10/22. SR-22 is on its way too LOL

So if you are using 10 round mags in the XCR at CHAS there is no issue with that?

Thanks for your help!

No, there's no issue. Just don't be using it on the 25 m "sight in ONLY" range. CHAS is fantastic, but has many rules like anyone else, and they are enforced (b/c in the past, some individuals abused the heck out of the range, target stands, etc). Everything is new so I'll have to go out and reacquaint as well.
I've got an M1A, another M1A in Troy SASS, Tavor, Sig, XCR.
