Take a close look at where the play is happening exactly. It may seem like the pivot for mine but it was the gap even after tightening the allen screws. Found a small washer/shim and that put a stop to the play.

My new-to-me XCR. Was planning to strip the paint and return it to factory finish, bu to my surprise the camo is growing on me. Looks better in person than in photos. Looking forward to getting it out in the bush in the new year 
Oh and as far as stock adaptors NEA makes (or made) a high and a low one. The low one works with a 40mm bell close to the rail and the high one is ar height I believe. I have the low one, had to ditch the cantilever for some lower rings, but it puts the scope center closer to the bore which is supposed to be good... somehow?
I have a question for all the XCR-M .308 guys who use their rifle for hunting... What factory loads are you using? Specifically for white tail.
I've only shot bulk ammo and Winchester Super X 150gr with about 4" groups. I understand every gun is different and I'll need to test my own loads, but I'm looking to narrow it down to half a dozen ish brands and weights.
Help a guy out boys!

Do you guys find the ambi safety bugs the back side of your grip hand? Anyone 'downgrade' to a non-ambi safety?
Yeah, the ACR stock is SO much better on an XCR than Fast or any of the AR-type offerings. I have one on my M as well. Ironic thing is that I DON'T have this type of stock on my actual ACR though!! ;-)
Zero problems at all for me, I did also remove that pathetic anorexic A2 factory grip for an MOE+ grip that really fills out the palm very well and helps keep a positive grip.
I shoot 1911's a a lot as well so the safety touching my hand does not phase me at all and I actually find the ambi safety very comfortable.
My thumb rest on the safety all the time and the main knuckle on my trigger finger sits just in contact with the safety so I can engage it in a split second.
In one motion of removing my finger from within the trigger guard I engage the safety at the same time and have my finger bladed along the receiver.

You get use to it, but I have considered this, because I have mine setup for a really high grip and low mounted optics. Based on your grip and weld, it will really affect trigger pull.
i have a gen1 xcr, bought used from the EE.
Buddy must have really taken care of it because i haven't had a single issue of any type.
it's far more accurate than i was led to believe.
i've read about issues other folks have had, just haven't experienced it myself.
