Robarms XCR FAQ post

To reiterate a question that's already been asked a couple of times, but never been answered:

What's the deal with the 7.62 mags? I would like to get some Magpul style poly mags for this rifle, but can't really find any info on additional 7.62 mags.

I've been right up to the point of checking out at stores a few times now, but keep backing out before handing over the magic card, partly because I don't know what my options for mags are.

Thanks!

C-Product is the only company that make mags in 7.62 x 39.

Yeah, I saw that on the Robarms website, but I haven't been able to find anyone in Canada who sells them.

Any links? I'd like to get an idea of what they look like, and how much they cost.

Thanks!

Wolverine brings the 5 round mags in along with the XCR, they are the 10 round mags with a extra long spring to block in the followers to 5, they are not pinned, so the cost is about $25ish.

They tend to sell fast, so get on a notify list with Wolverine if you want them.

Plenty of 7.62 x 39 and 6.8 C-Products short 5 rd mags in stock price is $25 each. Although the 6.8 mags have 6.8 stamped on the follower they are identical to the 7.62 x 39 which have a plain follower

Newbie question..... what is the situation with 7.62x39 XCR magazines in 'pistol' 10 round form. Is there anything available that will fit the XCR?

Until someone makes the effort of creating a 7.62 X 39 pistol AND enough people in Canada actually owns them before hand, will they ever be approved by the RCMP.

I think i remember a post stating that the good folks at Wolverine were looking into bringing into Canada.

Care to comment Wolverine ?

I read in here before that the LAR-15 mags will hold 7-8 7.62x39 rounds.

I was also under the impression that 6.8 SPC was designed specifically to be able to be used in AR-15 mags.

So can the 6.8 and 762 shooters not just use the same LAR-15 mag in the XCR?

I only got 6 of 7.62x39 into a LAR. And the upper lips of the mag seemed to pushout.

Also the follower on the 7.62 is slightly different the the 5.56, so the 6th round doesn't sit properly in the LAR. I've never tried to fire the 762x39 from a LAR in my XCR. There might be feeding issues with a 5.56 follower with 7.62x39 ammo.

I don't know about using 6.8 in a LAR.

I'll just use my CP 5 rd mags untill the Robarms Micro L-XCR comes to Canada. Then i'll buy some 10 round Micro Pistol mags. hehehe

Yes, I was the one that posted John at Wolverine supplies is looking into it, However for the RCMP to even consider approving a 10 round mag for 7.62x39 XCR pistol, it first has to "qualify as a hand gun commonly available in Canada".

which means that Canadian's have to buy quit a few of these pistols first, probably more than the current number of XCR's in country, before RCMP will say it is a commonly available handgun in Canada :(
