Robarms XCR FAQ post

I hope this is the right place to ask this. I was going to take out the new XCR-M this weekend but I'm wondering if I should do a basic breakdown and lube first, (it already seems pretty well oiled from the factory), and secondly, ARE there any spots I just open up and use locktite (and what colour). Sorry but I searched "locktite" and got nothing. Any links or otherwise hints would be greatly appreciated.

Its also ways a good idea to do your own due diligence and clean and lube any new to you firearm. Disassemble your gas block and make sure that is clean and free of oil, remove barrel and clean the barrel extension and where it cups into the receiver mine had a little bit of grease there. Id advise against a preemptive locktite bath though it wouldnt hurt, double check that the extractor, saftey/selector, stock adapter and gas block isnt loose, my gas block was really loose. Don't go crazy with the wrench just finger tight and a tiny bit should do. After you've sent a few down range recheck the above and you should be good to go. Once in while check up on those things is also good general preemptive maintenance.

No issues. I contacted Robarms and they told me the .223 stamped barrels are .223 Wylde chambers. Hornady 5.56 ran fine through mine. Accuracy was about the same as the American Eagle .223 I was running too.

I was wondering if anyone could help me determine which type of ambi mag release an xcr uses. I have just been told old vs new style. I have seen so many revisions of the xcr. What is old vs new? Any help would be great thanks.

So the new one and the new one are the same shape?

Are we referring to the shape of the original mag release currently on my gun or the design of the ambi mag release? when I look at my current mag release button it looks just like the one on my ar.

I think They are talking about the bolt release not the mag release. I know in your original question you asked about the mag release, unfortunately I can't help you with that but hopefully someone can.

Hey guys I am thinking of milling out the center of my picitiny rails on the XCR to shave a couple ounces of weight. I am not asking if its worth it; the weight savings are minimal at best, but I love to machine stuff. my question would be do you see any reason this would make the rails sloppy or not function properly? I see it done on a lot of airsoft copies of the XCR and a couple of the older XCR's it looks like.

this is what I mean this is a airsoft clone.

I have ALOT of parts showing up soon, just under $3000 worth so I am hoping to have some good pictures up in a week or two. I have also done some machining all ready, and so far I am quite happy with the performance! Its turning into a gun I would trust with my life slowly but surely. I am just waiting for wolverine to get the .223 conversion kits in, and to pick up a spare 7.62 AND 5.56 barrel to do some work to. I sadly am considering a FAKE can for the end of the barrel. and its truthfully only for looks hahaha, the barrel just looks awkwardly long on it I feel a fake can might make it look a little more proportionate.
