Robarms XCR FAQ post

PongoGn, my XCRM feels just fantastic with the SpecterDR. In my opinion is makes the "middle" heavy, and seems to have a better centre of gravity. However I like shooting from stable platform. It might not be the best for running or competition (but I'd like to try next year).

My XCR-L FDE, with Magpul UBR, AFG2 and MIAD grip. Optic is ACOG 4x32

Hope you guys like it!

I have been looking at these rifles, and other than being able to hunt with a XCR - M (308) why would anyone choose to go with a 308 with only 5/30 mags instead of the XCR - L in 223 where you can use pistol mags? Both are unrestricted as I'm aware. Personal preference? if so what personal reason?

Longer range capability, bigger boom?

Some people like 7.62 * 51.
I carried an FAL(c1) for a few years and really liked to shoot it. This one seems to have the recoil control of an FAL, but to lack the robustness of the fully developed C1, and the accuracy. We never had to lock-tight anything down, but we couldn't change the calibre either. I would like to handle one with a light barrel, with the heavy barrel it just seemed way to front heavy.

Most XCR owners never had to loctite anything down.
It is mostly non XCR owners that complain about loctite.

I bought a brand new xcr in 762x39. I got 150 rounds through it and it has been absolutely perfect. Ive been using 10 round pistol mags and Chinese and Czech ammo. It runs on gas setting 1 from the start but I bumped it up to 2 for the rest of the break in. No locktite yet but it appears it has been applied at the factory to most fasteners. Only issue I see so far is the ambi mag release doesn't drop the mag every time. Sometimes it need a tug to release. The ambi mag release doesn't move the mag release as much as the right side release. I'm a righty so it doesn't matter, but still I noticed it.

I was having a look at Robarms' web site. They show the XCR-M available in .260 Rem. Is it actually available? I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere before.

This is from Robarm's News page: "We have not found the right barrels for the XCR-M in .260 Remington. As soon as we do, we'll offer the XCR-M in .260 as complete rifles and conversion kits."
