I know Ian Robertson at Robertson Composites builds fantastic stocks, but I can’t find anything on their site to indicate whether or not they offer inletting and bedding services. Does anybody know if you can send them a barreled action and have them do the whole nine yards – build the stock, do the inletting, bed the action, do the finishing?

I can't think of anybody who should be better at doing this than a company that specializes in making stocks .....

Do they do bedding you ask??????

This should show you what they do.......

nice work eh !!!!!!

I have a few done by Ian himself and they are wroks of art, just like calvins,

I shot 5 5 shot groups for an BR aggregate at rosebud 3 years ago and set a range and provincial record at that time, BUT the kicker was that I took the screws out of the stock and shot it naked, (a screw in and not a glue in) , now I carried the gun carefully when I cleaned it but it was almost a press fit and I bet a guy I could shoot it naked and won 50 bucks and set a record,

BR crowd is slow to accept screw ins but that is life, they work when done by an EXPERT and Ian is such. Look carefully and think about why folks glue in as it hides their work > )

my pics would just mimick but calvin can post the alien gun stock if he wishes

also note the cutout for the BAT is done properly

by machining the stock and not just putting a bunch of glue or filler into the spot where bat does a cut out in the action,

the stockwork by Ian is first class or better, you dont have to go to the us of a and I have stocks done by bat machine, tony larsen, terry leonard, kelblys, and so on,

Thanks gentlemen. I had NO doubts about the quality of Ian’s work. You just have to look at his stocks to know what kind of work he does. I just didn’t know if he had time to offer inletting and bedding services. I imagine he’s a pretty busy guy.

The plan is to work out the stock details with him with regards to style, shape, and accessories - then send him the barreled action and just leave the rest to him. :p

Here is a pic of the bedding that Ian did on 2 of Jeffersons stocks. One is for a Stiller Viper Drop Port and the other for a Bat action. There is NO DIFFERENCE from job to job. They are ALL PERFECT and EQUIVALENT in QUALITY.

On a side note, here is a few pics of a stock Jefferson had painted.
