Robinson Arms XCR in 223 ???

My predator hunting rifles are right now a T/C Contender in 223 an older 26" barreled Ruger M77 in 22-250, a 22" barreled Sako 85 Grey Wolf in 22-250, a 21" barreled Voerre long actioned rifle in 6mm-284 and I just sold a Ruger Mini 14 Target and a Rem 700P both in 223...

Due to having so much experience hunting/calling/shooting predators I would never plan on hunting them with a 7.62X39, I would if one popped out and all I had was a 7.62X39 but during winter predator season I would never carry one.
 
After revisiting the sponsors above, I'm wondering where those of you who have or are about to purchase these beauties are getting your prices and doing your shopping?

Found them on a few other sites, not sure if we can post links here? (have to re-read forum rules.) Of course, all those "other sites" are out of stock, but at least I'm getting an idea of cost.

wolverine supply is where i get all my prices, but there is a local shop here in town that is selling them as well, but as far as i know he gets them from wolverine as well.
 
Wolverine is the Canadian importer...

I would have bought the XCR I saw @ Reliable Gun in Vancouver until I saw that I could get it in OD green from Wolverine so I ordered from Wolverine instead.

I bought one and it is already my favorite rifle.
I bought mine right here on the EE, she was already broke in and has yet to stove-pipe a round.
It runs so smoothly I have the gas set on S.
Beautiful rifle, I love it.

I have another question I am planning on using this rifle in the bush what sling/sling attachment/s are available and where do I find them.

Being that I will only be wearing hunting cloths I find the stock just a bit short for me (I'm 6'3") I understand the Wolverine has a stock adaptor that allows M4 stocks but once again I haven't a clue where to look or what accessaries fit this rifle.

Being that it's NR, take it to Dave's. Will not be a problem, as I do it all the time.
 
Wow. The OD XCR is pretty awesome looking and I like the light barrel. This thread just drained my wallet again. Aww ####...
 
Barrel conture may not be exactly the same the one in the picture is a 16" barrel and the one that comes with the rifle is a 18.6" barrel.
 
Just wondering if you can put a 10 round mag into these as is avail for Ar?Thinking of getting one and using for IPSC 3 gun.

Are the barrels on the new shipments light or heavy profile? The Canadian XCRs that I've handled were all heavy barreled.
 
If anyone is are of the XCR for 3 gun, you couldn’t ask for a better rifle. They are accurate, reliable and have all kinds of rail for optics and such and balance well. I was lucky enough to compete in the IPSC Canadian Nationals 3 Gun this past summer and there were only 2 guys on my squad that didn’t have a malfunction… and they were the 2 guys shooting XCR’s. I think that Alex guy that spent all the time and money developing the design deserves a lot of credit.
Actually, as I remember it, the guy who won the match in standard was shooting an XCR!
 
well i took my xcr out to the range on sunday and enjoyed a balmy -8 with no wind:)

i was curious as to the accuracy potential so i loaded up some different loads to try, and what a variance:eek:

i loaded 3 different bullets, 40 gr hornady vmax, 52gr berger target, and some 69 sierra match.

all shooting was done at 100 meters with no wind, all groups were 10 rounds at a time, and all shooting was done from a tripod and rear bag.

the sierra 69 gr match grouped around 3", but not very tight.

the 52 gr berger's were shooting about 5", with no bullets really near one another:eek:

the hornady vmax 40 gr were around 2" and under. with most nice and tightly centered.

i was told that the 1:9" twist that these rifles have should be better with the heavier bullets, but i guess not.

Have you ever tried Sierra 60gr HP Varminters they have been the most accurate bullet I have ever fired in 1 - 9" twist 223 rifles...

What powder were you using I would recommend H322 for a short 18.6" barrel.

i have a bushnell 6500 2.5-16x42 mounted at the moment.

i use benchmark powder for all my .223 stuff, but then again that's what worked well in my old remington 700 sps tac, maybe it doesn't like the xcr, but then again the 40 grain vmax's work great with it.
 
I asked because I was expecting to see far better accuracy in your range report, I mean my Ruger Mini 14 target did better than that with all the loads I shot in it and I only paid $900.00 for it.

I only sold it because it was to heavy to pack around in the bush all day...
