Not over the weekend sorry, what I was trying to say before the whiskey got in the way was this: The casings that are expelled by the rifle are dimpled out not in and the neck is slightly crimped as if its being smacked as it exits. Is this normal?

A little cratering on the primers is normal. You'll see it on most types of ammo in the XCR, other than Wolf, which has harder primers.
As for the necks being crimped - are you shooting at a range with a concrete floor or walls? If the cases are bouncing off of something that will cause it. That, or you need to turn your gas down a little.

Are you saying the firing pin impression on the primer is forced out as opposed to in? If so, this is definately a sign of over pressure and is not normal. If this is the case, I'd recommend you suspend firing the rifle and contact the manufacturer through the proper channels - as opposed to through this forum.

Actually if your XCR is punching primers, it is more likely the chamfering on the firing pin hole on the bolt face. Robinson had supposedly cured that, but call Robarm or PM Terra (XCRMonger here on CGN) and she will offer you a fix or a new bolt. I had this problem with the first batch of XCR and it was a simple self fix.

I guess you got one of the originals brought into Canada? As for the denting of the brass (if that is what you were trying to say) it is because your Gas setting is too high. The break in period says that it should be on 4 for the first 200-400 rounds or so IIRC, but I found that mine broke in way sooner than that. I kept mine on 3, then 2 and now 1 much faster than Robarm stated. (Though I did buy mine off another CGNer and he probably mostly broke it in already)

I had same expirence on gass setting 4 , dented necks/cases from brass hitting stuff , No problems since gas setting 2 used ..
The Americian Eagle ammo supposedly has higher pressures you may want to use setting 1 even.

According to Robinson's webstie the XCR it takes up to 200 plus to break in a rifle. . .give the latest policatlly teatment of governmenrt is to lean weeker should make for interest problems, i can hitch a ride with ANYONE, WOw I mean I was Iof those 25 rounds I ran through the ventre fire cap was not peirced but wa Completely f--- messed up for this post, the .223 I ran though was not indented but had an exterior dent plus the lip of the sasing up against the bulltet was dented I thought this was my issue (NOT SURE YET, ANY COMMENTS)

Hey Terra any solutions for the trigger failling to reset? I have to flick the saftey on and off every round, been like this out of box.

a quick touch-up with a file on the sear surfaces will do the trick. You can also hand-cycle it until the burr wears off. Those hammers are supposed to be filed before installation, but unfortunately that gets missed sometimes. The new triggers fixed that issue, thankfully.

Hotter ammo like American Eagle or 5.56 Nato spec ammo will normally crater some, perfectly safe in an XCR or any 5.56 Nato chambered gun.

the last shipment of XCRs all had the new triggers and safeties. We are planning on shipping some trigger kits too. Hopefully right around the end of this month/early August... we're waiting on parts to come in. The triggers have been standardized in the rifles for now.
