ROC T91 Carbine

T91 is prohib isn't it? This being a variant also makes it also.

No. It's not.

Full autos are prohibited. The original T91 lowers would be prohib as full auto. Full auto variants are not prohib. Variants of OIC prohibs are prohibited.

The T91 is not prohibited by OIC.

AR15 Uppers are not regulated. This is just an AR15 upper.

Even if it was, parts kits from prohibs are not regulated. AR15 style uppers are parts, and not subject to licencing.

True, but try getting parts for a prohib imported into this country. You're pretty much SOL unless you own said prohib and are trying to bring in spare parts for it.

M16s are Prohib, but we can get full auto bolts/carriers without any trouble. M14 rifles are prohib but we can get ALL the parts for those.

AR15s aren't prohibited. T91s are not prohibited by OIC.

It's an upper. You can import uppers that were intially off full auto guns and there are no issues. The M16a2 LMG uppers are a prime example.

The argument is mute. There is no "but" in this specific case...

I wasn't trying to have an argument and the point certainly isn't moot. I wasn't saying you can't get parts for M16s or the T91. You said that parts for prohibs aren't controlled and I was simply pointing out that that is not true. Parts for an M16 fit an AR15 so they are allowed and as has been pointed out the T91 isn't a listed prohib. I'm well aware that it's perfectly legal for me to be in possession of an auto sear for an M16 but that wasn't what was said.

Now try importing parts kits for an AK, FN FAL, etc... Unless things have changed these parts won't be allowed in unless you have 12.x and own a version of said rifle.

Yes, fair enough. Neither are listed prohibs. They are only prohib because they are or were full auto.

I should have been clearer. I do not believe that you can get parts for named prohibs like an AK variant or G3 for example.

Argument as in "line of thought or debate"...not as in a fight.

Nobody is talking about importing prohibited parts kits... as that isn't what these uppers are. Hence why making the point about importing parts kit is mute as it is a different subject than what the original post is about. A derail if you would.

The point being made was that these are not regulated receivers and thus available for import just like any other AR15 upper.

Nice no nonsense piston gun.

GT, do you have any actual info on why they chose to not incorporate the simple deflector?

Because the number of left handed people in China is so minute that it wasn't deemed necessary. Same with the T97.

So not to be that guy but my original response was because of this post. "Parts kits from prohibs are not regulated".

While we know they're are plenty of parts that are admissible into Canada because the original isn't a named prohib. Try bringing things in for named prohibs and it's a different story. A derail? Temporary sidebar to clarify an overly broad statement.

To get back on track, what is the barrel length of the military version? Wiki says 16" but if the US Wolf version is 16" the mil version looks shorter (14.5" maybe?).

I think I'd prefer the original gas block over this version. I don't like the idea of my front sling attached to the piston takedown. The rail portion would be perfect for a flashlight which is the only accessory I'd want to add.

Sidetrack of a sidetrack.

Barrels are made from taiwanese barrel blanks finished in the US and linger due to their SBR laws. Rumour has it anyways...

Ok, starting to get a little ridiculous. That's a handguard. Try bringing in an AK parts kit and then get back to me.

firearm component parts is firearm components parts. CBSA dont care if it goes on the outside or the inside of the gun. SO all the PE90 replacement gas piston must be super illegal in canada cause it works in the 55x series too.

Same goes with the Valmet series, throw aside the tolarence for a sec....they may or may not take AK parts.....
