Rock Island arms 1911

Hey guys, just got my restricted in the mail and I am looking for a decent 9mm 1911. I have seen this for sale in the EE and was curious about it.

Anyone have any experience with these? whats the verdict on this particular model?

Don't know yet, but I've been mulling over the idea of a nickel .38 super version. They seem to have a strong following in the states, but so does Springfield, and those seem to get trashed pretty regularly here.

After reading a lot of great things about them, I picked up an RIA Tactical model form Kodiak Outpost and I really do like it. I can see why the American shooters speak as highly of them as they do. South of the border they are the undisputed king of the budget 1911s and are backed by a lifetime warranty.

Up here, I do think they are worth the price and I will quite likely be buying one of the GI models as well in the near future. But they aren't quite the value that they are down south due to the fact that we have Norincos selling for $200 to $300 less than the RIAs go for. But like I said, I really do like the RIAs and will probably buy another. I do think that dollar for dollar, RIA has the nicest GI on the market.

I really liked mine, very reliable and accurate and the fit and finish is head and shoulders above Norc. There are definitely times I regret selling it.
