You may or may not have heard that James river armory is offering m14's and m1 carbines under the "Rock-ola" name. After reading some initial positive reviews i got in on thier black friday special in early december, and picked up a JRA m14 receiver and bolt. I had IRG import it for me and got it on friday. My first impressions are that JRA definately did thier homework, both the receiver and bolt look fantastic. A few more machining marks than a typical LRB receiver but I imagine they'll iron those out in later batches. Price point is also quite a bit lower than an LRB.

My last few pieces showed up yesterday to off the garage i went. Parts as follows:

-JRA Rock-ola receiver and bolt
-Criterion Chrome lined standard weight barrel
-RWB op rod
-7.62mm firearms gas system
-Complete HR trigger group
-Excellent condition GI stock
-the rest of the small parts are either GI or quality aftermarket

It went together with no problems at all. After lapping for contact the headspace came in at 1.633, perfect for both .308 and 7.62. Everything else went together smoothly and a couple hours later i was pleased to add a completed Rock-ola #97 to my collection. I function tested/sighted it in today with some aussie F4 surplus. It functioned great. I didn't stick around to really check out accuracy cause it's 25 below and I got cold.

If anyone is thinking about getting into the m14 game with one of the rock-ola offerings, I would would definately say DO IT! You won't be dissapointed.

Anywho, here's some eye candy. Enjoy!

I read about these recently. Very nice. I nearly went with one but I ended up ordering an LRB M25. I don't think you can go wrong either way. One thing I do like is on the Rock-ola, the scope mount lets you see the iron sites with a mounted scope. I think that's kind of a bonus.

Thank you for this!, I have been eye ballin these Rock-Ola's on m14forum as well and there have been plenty of positive reviews, I will definitely be getting one of these when I get more funding for it, it looks great!

My Rock-ola was made by the jukebox company:D

It's great to see a number of companies gear up to build M14 semi auto rifles. Tells us the demand is there and that there should be a good supply of them in the future. Hopefully we'll see some good old fashioned competition on pricing.
