Came across this on a link from the 1911 Forum. Not in production yet and I'm not sure I'd buy one myself but it sounds interesting nonetheless.

WT@.... Ok i own polymers etc, but the 1911 is meant to be STEEL!!! Not plastic, composite, carbon fiber etc etc...

Just good old STEEL! I will NOT accept that freakish creation :mad:
 
Marstar has been carrying BULL guns for a while they are basically a plastic doublestack 1911s. Pretty sure Kimber has a model as well. So its nothing new really.
 
Rock River used to produce some of the very finest precision ‘bullseye’ match 45’s - high prices, never exported to Canada as far as I know, but capable of inch and a half ten round groups at fifty yards. And for those who missed that whole phase, high capacity 1911s using combination polycarbonate with steel insert frames were around as far back as the early 1990’s .
