So I am messing around with a Savage Axis .308. Just messing with the stock for now, painted it with textured stone colored paint, topped off with black Krylon webbing paint. Now I am thinking on stiffing the stock. Reading on the Savage shooters forum site seems like people are using Rockite to stiffen the stock. Anyone on here do this, Seems pretty straight forward for the forend just curious of the buttstock. If I completely fill it will it be off balance or should I add some small PVC pipe in side and fill around them to create some air spacing?
