Rogue bears more likely to face a gun this summer (Ont.)

It's so damn simple- bring back the spring bear hunt AND allow hound hunters to train their dogs outside of the harvest season, as they do in some other jurisdictions. In W Virginia they train their hounds on bear for much of the year. The result, bears that are frequently chased become very wary of dogs and the humans that come behind them and do their best to avoid them. My buddy who has been hound hunting bears in the mountains of WV for close to 60 years figures that the barking of a yappy lap dog is enough to get bears turning tail in his neck of the woods.

3 years ago ("allegedly"...lol) my buddy was having trouble with a rogue bear around his cottage in "Haliburton" area so he called his cousin, a "bear technician" so to speak, who showed up with a "tranquilizer gun" of sorts, i think it had .308 diameter needles and he used to administer the drugs, which I think were made of lead and copper, and he tranquillized said bear and took it to be relocated and it never came back, ever.....seems like a pretty good bear Tech to me.
