Rolling Block Extractor

Hey you Rolling Block heads .....

I have a 45-70 RB built on a 7mm action. The extraction is weak. You wouldn't want to rely on it to save your life.

Can this action be retro-fitted with the rotating extractor?

I am sure you could take a breach block from a gun with a rotary extractor and fit it. The draw back would be that it would possibly/probably change the head space. Probably better to take the existing breach block and mill about .080 to .1" away and make a rotary extractor . Remember you need to leave a lug on the breach to push the rotary extractor with.

Could be easier to have a 'smith build and fit a stronger ejector of the same type you have now.

My Rolling blocks with rotary extractors just barely get the job done, extraction is one of the weaknesses of the RB action, as is lack of camming action.
