I was looking at a Rollingblock actioned full wood military rifle today that has a large bore (possible 58cal)It had strange markings on the battle sights and a tigers head logo on top of the 30" barrel at the reciever.The bore has very large square cut rifling.There are no other markings on it.Would any one be able to shed some light on its origin.Looks like a remington roller to me similar to my 1873 springfield rolling block but lack of markings are confusing.I think I need this rifle but want to identify it first.

lots of 12.7x44r floating around right now, post a pic and someone should be able to identify right away. I have a 12.7 full wood and love it. It is extremely accurate with cast bullets from a cheap LEE mold. Does it look like the ones tradex has for sale?

If it was close to 58 sounds like one of the early ones Remington did - basically used existing muzzleloader barrels on a rolling block action. Although the strange markings makes it sound like an overseas contract rifle.

The cat's head logo sounds like a Siamese gun. Probably also has a very intricate emblem on the right side of the receiver and perhaps another cat head stamped into the butt. I saw one at the gun show today in a shortened version of the 50-70 that the owner thought might be for a 50-70 carbine shell
