Rolling block side lever

A buddy built a 32-40 Rolling block with a Ron Smith Gain Twist barrel and a James Brown Side lever conversion from Rodney Storie in Oklahoma. He sent it to me to caseharden and blue. I think it looks pretty nice.

I casehardened a Ballard Pacific and a copy of an english falling block. Every one comes out differently. You never really know what you will get.

The barrel looks shorter in the picture because of the angle but it has a long heavy barrel. In person it looks nice. I have trouble photographing long rifles.

the side lever gives the old rifle an elegant look ,somewhat similar to the Hepburn idea

That looks really good! With the octagon top, is that a 1 1/2 action?
There was also an underlever conversion for rolling block actions.

I am pretty sure it started life as a #5 in 7mm.
