Rolling your own ammo is a-kin to driving your own car.
It's only as dangerious as you make it.
I would suggest you purchase a Lyman Reloading manual & real it. :)
All the info is clearly laid out in it.

It is a very safe if a person can follow directions. The inherent physical dangers of smokeless powders is lower than many common household items like hairspray and bleach.

Inattention and failure to follow the rules however can result in a small bomb being loaded into your firearm and result in it's destruction as well as serious injury to the shooter. Get a few good manuals and read them before you even attempt to load a round.

roll your own

It is not very hard these days, I started over 25 years ago with a Lee turret press and have been making nearly all my own pistol ammo ever since. With a little care it is very safe with the added advantage that you can make almost exactly the right bullets for every gun you shoot, hard or soft, you choose. Take it steady and you get to enjoy reloading for the fun of it but a bit of research, check out more than one manual and articles can teach you a lot. There can be different opinions from loaders and some variations on powder loads so start a bit low and work into suitable loads for your needs. Talk with your shooting friends and add a bit of their experience but we are all likely to have some different ideas on tools etc so the choice is yours. Progressive or turret presses make good sense and lots of used can be had if you look. Good luck and enjoy.

Reloading is like baking a cake... follow the recipe and things will be fine.. deviate from it and you may create a master piece or poison yourself...

If reloading was dangerous, the insurance companies would be exacting a pound or two of flesh from reloaders in higher premiums. They aren't.
Firefighters worry far more about TV picture tubes than they do about smokless gun powder. Smokless powder burns quickly, but it doesn't explode. Picture tubes explode.
Common sense goes a long way. No smoking, open flames, distractions, etc while loading and you'll be fine. READ THE BOOK first.
