I've been doing some research and photo collecting online to see what exactly is out there for rollmarks on Colt Canada built lowers. Turns out there are a fair number of different styles of marking on CC products over the years. I thought it would be cool to post them up in one spot and invite anyone with something different to post them up as well. I'd be especially interested in seeing anything with markings for lowers made for Denmark, the UK, Holland and the Netherlands.

I'll add different lower pics to this first post as different versions pop up.

That is what I have so far. Will continue adding as I find them. Post up euro markings as you find them.

If you find a lower I'll add it to the OP. Once it is their feel free to remove it from the chain lower down to keep the band with low haha. Can't keep this from the 56k folks.

Removed the C8A1, was an airsoft thing.

I was handling the RCMP's new patrol carbine last week. It is made by Colt Canada and it is the 15.7 IUR system. As I recall, it had an LMT SOPMOD style stock, Ergo grip and Surefire Flashlight with a Tango Down Mini Foregrip. The receiver was marked (as best as I can remember):

*Canadian Maple Leaf*
RCMP
C8A1
5.56mm
Ser Number: The number ended in R

The rear of the receiver had the standard: "Made in Canada Under License..." with the Diemaco "D"

The only reason I can remember this was that I commented to the constable that I thought it was strange that the RCMP would use a DND term for their carbine "C8A1" but I was told that it was made under the DND contract - I am not too sure about this as I haven't seen the IUR in CAF service but I am not in a High Readiness unit so maybe they are in DND now. The last C8 I handled was the FTHB.

There are some pictures of CANSOF guys with IUR guns.

They have a 14.5" barrel on them.

They use the term C8A1 as that is what Colt Canada names the gun. For all those guys that rant "it isn't a C8 unless it is select fire", that is what Colt Canada names their semi auto police patrol rifles.

The semi auto c8 lowers are no different than the semi auto sa15.7 and sa20 lowers. The civi rifles are just laser etched sa15.7 or sa20. Only difference.

Several departments run a C8A2 setup with a 14.5 barrel.

You don't see the RCMP renaming their Ford Crown Vics to Ford "something else"

It is just a model number.

ugly looking gun, like Vickers sling, other then how they are installed

I fixed the post. I said Dutch, meant Netherlands.

The forward hand guard is removable. So they can barrel swap between the C7 and the C8 barrels. One IUR platform made to work for varying barrel lengths. The CAA furniture isn't that exciting.

But if Colt Canada had a sudden over run of these... I'd be in. For reasons. Haha.
